RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and provide a safe and reliable bus fleet. This includes emergency repairs, regular and periodic inspections, and maintenance procedures to reduce the frequency of repairs and lower operational and maintenance costs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
– Minimum applicable experience as determined by the Board of Education
– Ability to work cooperatively with other school staff
– Demonstrated knowledge of school bus repair and preventive maintenance
– Awareness of ASE School Bus Certification with a commitment to become certified within 24 months
– Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and air brake certification
– Must be willing to operate a school bus as needed to support transportation operations
– Ability to do repairs under the guidance of the Chief Mechanic
– Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status in accordance with State and Federal regulations

PAY SCALE & BENEFITS:
$53,370 – $75,535 (Commensurate with experience)

The District is seeking a qualified and experienced Manager of Transportation to oversee the daily operations of the transportation department. This position ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation of students and supervises transportation personnel, routing, and fleet maintenance. Reports To: School Business Administrator / Superintendent

QUALIFICATIONS:

– Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
– Excellent driving record; five (5) year Driver’s Abstract required
– School transportation experience
– Knowledge of New Jersey laws and regulations related to pupil transportation and school bus operations
– Experience with personnel supervision, route scheduling, fleet maintenance, and cost containment
– Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
– Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
– Availability for on-site work, on-call responsibilities, and periodic overtime
– Successful completion of criminal history background check
– Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
– New Jersey residency or agreement to obtain residency within one year of employment
– Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Salary: $70,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Warren Hills Regional School District (serving grades 7-12) and the Washington Township School District (serving Preschool through Grade 6), located in Warren County, NJ, are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual for the full-time position of Transportation Supervisor. This collaborative role performs a wide variety of tasks to ensure the smooth, accurate, and efficient operation of transportation services for both districts. The Transportation Supervisor plays a vital role in the efficient functioning of transportation operations to best serve the needs of the students, parents, and staff of both school communities. This position reports to the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary of each district.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Develop, monitor, and evaluate school bus routes for both the Regional and Elementary districts
– Monitor daily transportation operations and coordinate with drivers to address scheduling needs
– Ensure compliance with federal, state, and New Jersey Department of Education transportation regulations
– Manage transportation accommodations for students with special needs
– Coordinate with school administrators, athletic directors, and activity advisors to address transportation needs
– Maintain accurate records and reports related to transportation services
– Assist in managing transportation budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities
– Ensure implementation of driver training programs and safety protocols
– Serve as liaison between districts, parents, and transportation contractors

QUALIFICATIONS:

– High School Diploma or equivalent, required
– 3 years experience in school transportation administration, preferred
– Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), preferred
– Knowledge of state laws and regulations governing school bus construction, maintenance, and pupil transportation
– Demonstrated skills in personnel management, route scheduling, fleet maintenance, and cost containment
– Strong organizational and communication skills
– Proficiency in computerized routing software (VersTrans) and Microsoft Office/Google applications
– Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage changing priorities
– Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

COMPENSATION:
Salary and work year to be determined by the School District’s Board of Education
