TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR
ANTICIPATED OPENING BEGINNING JANUARY 4, 2021

QUALIFICATIONS:
– New Jersey School Transportation Supervisor Certification
– A minimum of three years’ experience as a school bus driver
– Demonstrated competence in computer applications
– Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Prepare and administer the transportation budget.
– Prepare financial analyses and other reports relative to the transportation program as may be requested by the Business Administrator.
– Develop and administer a transportation program to meet all the requirements of the daily K-12 instructional program and extracurricular activities.
– Prepare and maintain bus routes and schedules for all public and non-public schools attended by district students.
– Cooperate with school principals and others responsible for planning special school trips
– Develop recommendations for future equipment and personnel needs based on a survey of resident students, their geographic locations and grade levels.
– Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate all transportation personnel and make recommendations on their employment, transfer, promotion, and release.
– Supervise the maintenance of all district-owned equipment and develop plans for preventive maintenance.
– Handle miscellaneous tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Business Administrator.

THE ARC OF MONMOUTH
TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

The Arc of Monmouth serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in group homes, day programs, and supported employment.

We are seeking qualified candidates for a Transportation Coordinator to manage the operation of The Arc of Monmouth’s transportation systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and previous transportation experience, as well as:

  • Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a Fleet Management role, required.
  • Previous supervisory experience, required.
  • Experience with Fleet Management software, preferred.
  • Prior experience serving the I/DD population, preferred.
  • New Jersey driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Arc and its insurer.

PISCATAWAY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
DISPATCHER OF TRANSPORTATION
12 Month Position in Accordance with Negotiated Agreement
Salary to be Determined by the Board

QUALIFICATIONS:
Completed or be willing to complete courses for transportation supervisor as well as have or be willing to obtain New Jersey State CDL with P & S endorsements. Applicant must have strong organizational skills, be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, have the ability to work independently, and have the ability to work and interact positively with a variety of publics.

REPORTS TO:
The Dispatcher is directly responsible to the Supervisor of Transportation for relieving the Supervisor of administrative detail and to assist the supervisor in the efficient operation of the Transportation Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  (illustrative only)
-Assists in the development of transportation routes
-Assists in the assignment of field trips
-Prepares state, county and local financial reports
-Utilizes the computerized transportation scheduling program to develop in-district bus routes.
-Performs secretarial work including typing and filing, completing jointures, other forms, drafting and editing correspondence, completing purchase orders and B8T’s.
-In the absence of the Supervisor of Transportation, supervises and assigns work to all transportation employees.
-Assists in implementation of inclement weather procedures
-Maintains accurate records including but not limited to payroll and budget
-Other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation

EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Supervisor of Transportation

PISCATAWAY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
SCHOOL BUS AUTO MECHANIC

REQUIREMENTS:
-Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair – eligibility to be determined by the Board
-ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification preferred
-High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
-Ability to demonstrate knowledge of automotive mechanics including but not limited to repair and preventative maintenance of school buses and fleet vehicles
-Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
-Certification of good health signed by the Board appointed physician
-Such other qualifications of academic, professional and personal excellence as the Piscataway Township Board of Education may specify
