Requirements:
Conform to all state laws and regulations regarding school transportation.
Maintain safety standards in conformance with state and insurance regulations.
Be the primary contact person for all district bus drivers and bus aides; Assist in scheduling bus drivers & aides; coordinate driver/aide substitutions and/or route modifications.
Assist in the administration of the contractual transportation program to meet all the requirements of the daily instructional program and extracurricular activities.
Maintain all district owned equipment & develop plans for preventative maintenance, including vehicles not used for transportation.
Act as liaison with parents for concerns and special requests.
Assist in the design of busing routes w/ maps & lists for various bus routes for all district transportation.
Prepare transportation reimbursements for eligible students attending private schools.
Be available by telephone from 6:00 AM for drivers/aides needing emergency subs on school days and at hours necessary to accommodate district needs.
Inspect and fill out safety reports for all vehicles.
Arrange/schedule repairs on vehicles. Schedule safety inspections four times a year as required by law.
Perform other duties as assigned for efficient operation of the transportation office.

Qualifications:
1. CDL Bus License.
2. Pupil Transportation Supervisor Certificate.
3. Previous experience.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

• Prepare bidding documents and process all information required to place routes for bid
• Negotiate contracts and ensure contract compliance
• Prepare and submit budget requests and monitor expenditure of funds in cooperation with the Business Administrator
• Prepare appropriate state/district reports
• Recommend for appointment, assign duties, supervise and evaluate the performance of employees as assigned
• Be available during early morning hours and on scheduled holidays as need arises

Description:
Under direction of a supervisor in the Office of School Finance, provide guidance and technical assistance and training in the administration of student transportation contracts and related policies, including: assisting in developing and updating Student Transportation Bid Specifications, Policies and Procedure Manuals, and other related documents; conducting reviews of county superintendent͛ administration of student transportation functions including their review and approval of contracts, electronic logging of contracts, and effective dissemination of DOE documents; working with county office staff to verify procedures and assisting with training county and district staff to ensure proper completion of transportation contracts. As necessary, work with county staff to ensure that procedures are being followed in the field, including travel to county offices, or via telephone conference or other means. Perform the annual review, maintenance and update of the District Report of Transported Resident Students (DRTRS) electronic data collection system, including preparing specifications for required system updates; collaborating with IT programming staff to implement required updates and maintenance; testing the system before deployment into the field; updating the technical and policy user manuals; and assisting school districts to ensure timely and accurate data submission. Develop criteria and design models to promote consolidated, efficient transportation practices. Identify common characteristics and efficient transportation practices through the evaluation of the DRTRS data, district efficiency questionnaires, and corrective action plans. Assists in developing short and long-term education and/or financial plans; assists in conducting analyses and evaluations of curricula and other education programs, surveys, needs assessments, and related research; assists in the establishment, maintenance, and evaluation of program and fiscal data related to state and federal aid, grant applications, and allocations; performs mandated regulatory functions; works with some independence in areas of assignments; does other related duties.

Requirements:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Education, Public Policy, Transportation, Finance, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in education administration, planning, research, program evaluation, or finance.

Note: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience as indicated on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester hour credits being equal to one (1) year of college. Applicants wishing to substitute additional experience for the required Master’s degree, must possess a total of six (6) years of combined education and experience, in addition to the required experience cited above.
